What We Do
All over the world, children with disabilities are more exposed to abuse, exclusion and discrimination than other.
Right Sight and partners joined forces to set and improve specialized support for children with disabilities with the aim of promoting integration, advocating for the inclusion of disabled children rights, lobbying to create a conducive environment, provision of professional aid and their family about their rare uniqueness and knowledge over their children’s disabilities.

Disability /special need children in Tanzania.
The issue of disability is still a big taboo topic in Tanzania. Much is connected with their tradition, culture, norms, faith which sees disabilities as a curse and abomination which lead to the child or even entire family to be expelled to the community.
Put aside superstition of the society, caring of the disable child in a poor living condition is not easy. If both parents still present (usually one parent left due to society pressure) to contribute to the family’s live hood and survival. Especially if the disable child needs to be cared for around the clock, one source income is lost.
There are many reasons why disable and special need children often abounded or fortunately often killed. The bigger problem is lack of information. Many families do not even know what their child has how they should deal with the child and support them. There is no counselling, medical aid and support for these families.
Our Goals
We want to sensitize the neighbourhood and the surrounding areas to the subject of disability.
Offer affected family’s advice, support and stand up for the fact that children with disabilities are like other child, are recognize as lovable, unique being.
Training of professionals to provide better support for children with disabilities to assist them in developing their motor and mental skills.
We want to overcome prejudice and discrimination and stand for equal rights and participation for all children.
